Raisin Bread
2 tbsp yeast
1/3 cup warm water
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp salt
1/3 cup melted margarine or oil
2 cups hot water
raisins (use raisin water)
1 or 2 tbsp blackstrap molasses
1 or 2 tsp cinnamon
6 -7 cups flour
Cook raisins and drain water. Use water in bread. Add yeast to 1/3 cup water. Mix sugar, shortening, water, molasses, cinnamon and 4 cups flour. Add raisins, yeast mixture and remaining flour. Knead abou 10 minutes. Let rise 2-3 hours. Knead and let rise again. Bake bread at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
