Norwegian Meatballs - Mrs. Allan Russell (kjøttkaker)

Norwegian Meatballs

2 lbs beef (round steak or chuck)
1 lb lean pork
1 pt cream
1 1/2 tsp salt
3/4 - 1 tsp mace

Have meat ground very fine. Add the seasonings and cream. Work the cream into the meat. Mix with hands until very smooth. Make into small balls and drop into boiling water. Simmer for about 1 hour until done. Remove meat balls and make thin gravy. Return meat balls and simmer until ready to serve.
