Danish Cookies
Cream:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 shortening
1 cup sugar
Add:
1 beaten egg
Sift together and add:
2 cups flour (scant)
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp baking soda
Add:
1 tp lemon or vanilla extract
After combining, chill until dough can be easily rolled in mall balls on baking sheet. Press with fork or some design and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375 deg. 10 to 15 minutes or until very delicate brown. Do not over-bake. Makes about 50 cookies. Good for freezing. All butter may be used in this recipe
