Scotch Short Bread - Mrs. Aldred Holland

Scotch Short Bread 

1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour

Cut butter into flour and sugar as for pie crust. Mix thoroughly. Pat into greased 8 x 12 pan about 1/4 in. thick. Sprinkle with colored sugar or little candies. Bake to a delicate brown 15 to 20 min in 365 deg. oven. Cut while hot. Some may prefer to roll this out about 1/4 inch thick and cut in squares or fancy shapes before baking.
