Scalloped Chicken - Mrs. Elmer Schafer (Hot Dish) (Bread Stuffing)

Scalloped Chicken

1 qt unsalted chicken broth
4 tbsp flour
4 tbsp chicken fat

Cook the above three together until slightly thick.

Dressing
1 1/2 qt dry bread crumbs
3/4 cup melted butter
1 1/2 tsp sage
1/4 cup cream
3/4 tsp
dash of pepper
2 tbsp chopped onion

Mix these together lightly. Spread 1 qt. cooked, cubed chicken in 8x10" ungreased pan. Cover with the dressing. Pur the thickened broth over this, and bake about 30 min. in a 350 deg. oven.

All but the broth may be put in the pan. Covered and place in the refrigerator until you wish to bake it. Then heat the thickened broth and pour over the dressing before placing it in the oven.

Serve hot with a salad.
