Fruit Soup
1 11 or 12 oz. pacakge, dried, mixed fruits (cut into peces)
1 cup dried prunes
1 cup raisins
8 scant tbsp pearl tapioca
Juice and rind pieces of 1 lemon
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups sugar
Soak all ove the above overnight in water that is one inch above the fruit. Next morning add 4 cups water and bring to boil. Then turn to low and simmer unil tapioca is clear. This takes 3-4 hours. Use a heavy kettle and stir now and then to keep from sticking. The last 1/2 hour of cooking time, stir in one 10 oz package frozen strawberries. Serve hot or cold. This makes a very good dessert when served cold with whipped cream.
