Swedish Kringler
Part I
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp water
Mix as for pie crust. Pat on cookie sheets (11x15) into two long strips 3 inches wide.
Part II
1 cup butter
1 cup water
1 cup flour
3 eggs
1/2 tsp almond flavor
Heat water and butter to boiling point. Remove from stove. Add flour and stir until smooth. Stir in eggs one at a time and beat after each. Add extract and spread on first mixture. Bake 15 minutes at 425 deg. then 30 minutes at 400 deg.
Part III
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp almond flavor, or more.
When Part II has cooled, frost with part III. Use a little cream to thin if necessaray. Cut in slices when ready to serve.
